Willie Banks was signed by the Minnesota Twins and scout Edward Dunn as a 1st Round pick (3rd overall) in the 1987 amateur draft. He threw a complete game no-hitter against the Palm Springs Angels while pitching for the Visalia Oaks on May 24, 1989. That season, he led the California League with 173 strikeouts and 22 wild pitches.
