Willie Banks was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 1st Round (3rd overall) of the 1987 amateur draft. He threw a complete game no-hitter against the Palm Springs Angels while pitching for the Visalia Oaks on May 24, 1989. That season, he led the California League with 173 strikeouts and 22 wild pitches.
