Wilkes-Barre, PA
From BR Bullpen
Wilkes-Barre is located in northeastern Pennsylvania, on the Susquehanna River, 10 miles southwest of Scranton, PA. Contrary to other hyphenated cities, Wilkes-Barre was not formed by joining two separate cities, but instead adopted the last names of two of its founders. It was a major center of the U.S. coal industry.
