Westgate Park in San Diego, California, was home of the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League for a decade. Opened in 1958, the park featured 8,200 seats, all of which were covered by a roof. Anticipating the arrival of major league baseball, the much larger San Diego Stadium was constructed in the mid 1960s, and the Padres moved there in 1968 for their final PCL season. Westgate Stadium was then torn down to make way for a commercial shopping area.
