Welland is located in Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, on the Welland Canal which links Lake Ontario to Lake Erie as a part of the St. Lawrence Seaway. It is 10 miles south of St. Catharines, ON and 10 miles south-west of Niagara Falls, ON.
