Warren Bogle was the first major league player out of the University of Miami. He pitched 16 games in 1968 at age 21 for the Oakland Athletics.

It was a young team. He was the same age as Rollie Fingers, and a year younger than Catfish Hunter and Reggie Jackson and Rick Monday. Tony LaRussa and Rene Lachemann were two years older and trying to make the team.
