Outfielder Ward Miller played in three major leagues, generally hitting above average. In perhaps his most notable season, he had an on-base percentage of .400 in the 1915 Federal League, good for third-best in the league.
Miller attended Northern Illinois University not long after Davy Jones had been there. The two remain (as of 2008) the players from NIU with the most major league at-bats.
