Walter Clarkson, who was born and died in Cambridge, MA, went to Harvard University from 1898-1903. He made his debut in the majors in 1904, and his 3.17 ERA places him first among pitchers from Harvard (through 2007), while his 18 victories place him second behind Jeff Musselman.

He was born many years after his brothers Dad Clarkson and John Clarkson, neither of which was in the majors when Walter broke in. He is also the cousin of Mert Hackett and Walter Hackett.
