[edit] Biographical Information
Wally Dashiell had a long pro ball career which included one game at the major league level with the Chicago White Sox in 1924.
Dashiell played for teams in Texas in 1923, 1924 and 1926. He was with Pensacola in 1927 and 1928 and with Chattanooga from 1929 to 1932. He led the Southern Association with 50 stolen bases in 1929 and hit .332 in 1931 for Chattanooga. His minor league career went through 1941.
As a manager, he was skipper from 1934 to 1942 and also in 1948, in Texas and Florida. The book Baseball in Dallas has a photo of him with the 1941 Dallas team that he managed.
According to the 1939 Spalding Guide, Dashiell owned his minor league teams from 1934 to 1939 at least [1].
The SABR biography of Saul Rogovin says that Dashiell was general manager of Pensacola in 1946.
