Wake Forest is located in central North Carolina; it is a suburb of Raleigh, NC. The campus of Wake Forest University was orginaly located here, but it moved to Winston-Salem, NC between 1946 and 1956 (the campus is now home to a theological college). Tommy Byrne is strongly connected to the town as he studied at the university when it was still located in Wake Forest, then was mayor of the town and died here.
