Pitcher Wade Townsend was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 2004 amateur draft but did not sign with the club. The next year, he was picked by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and he currently plays in their farm system. However, he missed the entire 2006 season after having Tommy John surgery the previous year.
