Víctor Díaz hit 15 homers in his first 331 career at-bats. In July of 2003 the Los Angeles Dodgers traded Diaz along with Joselo Diaz and Kole Strayhorn to the New York Mets for Jeromy Burnitz.
Díaz hit .211/.286/.263 for the Águilas Cibaeñas in the 2008 Caribbean Series. Díaz signed with the Hanwha Eagles for 2009. He went 1 for 5 with a 3-run homer in his KBO debut, on April 4 against the SK Wyverns.
