In his limited time in the big leagues, Víctor Díaz has established himself as a dangerous young hitter. Díaz has hit 15 homers in his first 331 career at-bats. In July of 2003 the Los Angeles Dodgers traded Diaz along with Joselo Diaz and Kole Strayhorn to the New York Mets for Jeromy Burnitz.

Díaz hit .211/.286/.263 for the Águilas Cibaeñas in the 2008 Caribbean Series.
