Vic Rodriguez has an impressive-looking major league record, with a career in the majors from 1984-89 and a lifetime batting average of .429 and slugging percentage of .607.
Rodriguez, born in New York, NY, signed as a free agent in 1977 with the Baltimore Orioles organization when he was 15 1/2 years old. He played in the minors from 1978-84 before getting his first major league chance at age 23 in 1984. From 1978-84 he had nine stops in the minors, hitting at least .290 at six of the stops.
After his cup of coffee in 1984, he moved to the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals organizations before coming to the Minnesota Twins organization in 1988. In the minors from 1985-89, he had five stops, hitting at least .290 three times.
He came up for another cup of coffee in 1989 with the Twins, and continued in their minor league organization through 1991. He played in the minors through 1995, hitting over .290 in 1991 and 1993.
Altogether, Vic had 18 minor league seasons to go along with his .429 major league average. He hit over .290 lifetime in the minors.
In the early 2000's, he was coaching with Augusta.
