Verdo Elmore is remembered as one of the few major leaguers who had three or more hits in the majors with all of them being doubles.

He is listed as being at the University of Alabama in 1925-26, as were Red Barnes, Bruce Connatser, Grant Gillis, John Campbell and Syd Cohen. Andy Cohen was there in 1925, while Jackie Hayes, Ray Pepper and Tommy Sewell were there in 1926.
