The school was a two year college from 1987 to 1993 known as Utah Valley Community College and a four year school known as Utah Valley State College until July 1, 2008 when it attained University status. Alumni include Mitch Jones, Kameron Mickolio and Jeff Scholzen. Richard Stephenson went here many years after his playing career was over.
