I'm a social worker in Pittsburgh, working in a low-income senior high-rise presently. Baseball-wise, I enjoy reading about minor leagues, international baseball or 19th century baseball and I think this has been reflected in my posts here. I'm a Pirates fan and used to follow the Blue Jays closely (late 80s and early 90s). I'm Jewish and am serving as vice president of my synagogue this year. I'm also somewhat active politically, writing letters to the editor and presently I am the secretary of Democrats for Life of Pennsylvania, the state chapter of the pro-life Democrat organization. My other useful volunteer work is for the Sierra Club and Pittsburgh's Kosher Food Pantry. My other trivial volunteer work comes as the primary season designer for the freeware Strategic Baseball Simulator - I've designed over 50 minor league seasons, over 10 Japanese seasons, a couple dozen big-league seasons, hundreds of custom teams and assorted other odds and ends. The other indication of how much time I have to waste is that I'm a bibliophile - in addition to baseball, I like to read biographies, fantasy, history, mystery and about politics, economics, environmental issues and religion. I got married on May 29, 2006. My son Dov was born on August 30, 2007. My second son Nathan was born on June 10, 2011.

My website, which usually goes years between updates, is [1]

Contents

Present or Planned Projects

  • Bios of every Jewish player
  • Bios of every player in Fall of the Roman Umpire, Baseball's Forgotten Heroes, Mendoza's Heroes and Remembering Japanese Baseball (this is a long-term goal)

Additionally I continue to enter information on various leagues and minor league teams gradually. The vast majority of these projects are on hold due to a huge backlog of pages that need to be edited that others have submitted. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to these at some point
