Former Head Coach Ron Fraser had a record of 1,271-438-9 over 30 years. When Fraser retired he was replaced by Jim Morris who led the team to National Championships in 1999 and 2001. The team was once run by Bill Veeck and coached by Jimmie Foxx.
Many successful major league players have come from Miami, including Greg Vaughn, Ryan Braun, Aubrey Huff, and Charles Johnson.
