Vic Willis, the biggest star to have come out of the University of Delaware, was also the only major leaguer to have come from the University of Delaware prior to 1950. Kevin Mench leads all former Blue Hens in ML at-bats.
Other major leaguers include Dallas Green and Lee Elia, perhaps known better as general manager and manager for the Chicago Cubs in the 1980's.
