Twin Ports League
From BR Bullpen
The Twin Ports League was the only Class E league in organized baseball history. It only played one season, 1943, with three teams in Duluth, MN and one in Superior, WI. The WWII iron industry had brought a lot of workers to these port cities on Lake Superior, and they were able to organize teams of better-than-amateur quality for a time while many other minor leagues around the country were shut down by the war. The league was not successful, however, and folded on July 14, 1943.
