Tubasa Aizawa (會澤翼) (Atsu)

Tubasa Aizawa is a catcher in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Aizawa hit 35 home runs in high school. The Hiroshima Carp drafted him in the third round in 2006. In his first minor league plate appearance, he came up with two outs in the 9th with a perfect game by Kazuki Kondo one out from completion. Kondo got two strikes on Aizawa, then plunked him to blow the bid. Aizawa dislocated his shoulder in spring training in 2008 and missed the season following surgery.

Tubasa made it to NPB in 2009 and got his first hit off Hayato Terahara. He finished the season 6 for 28 with a double, three runs, three RBI and eight strikeouts. In 2010, he hit .170/.200/.245 in 32 games, with 16 whiffs in 53 at-bats. He got his first career homer, taking Tomoyuki Kubota deep on September 5.

Aizawa made the Japanese national team 2010 Intercontinental Cup roster.
