Brother of Brandon Cromer, D.T. Cromer, and minor leaguer Burke Cromer, Tripp Cromer was a shortstop who for many years split his time between the majors and minors. He was up in the majors for eight years, getting a lot of at-bats only in 1995 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Tripp played against Brandon in the minors for the first time in 1997 in AAA ball. Tripp and D.T. were both in the majors during the 2000 season.
