Philip Trent Jewett

Catcher Trent Jewett played four seasons (1987-1990) in the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system and hit .172/~.254/.210 over 319 AB in 113 games.

In 1992, he began moving his way up the Pirates' chain as a minor league manager. He managed the Welland Pirates (1992), Augusta Pirates (1993), Salem Buccaneers (1994), Carolina Mudcats (League champs in 1995), Calgary Cannons (1996-1997), Nashville Sounds (1998-mid-2000, 2003-2004), and Indianapolis Indians (2005-2007).

Jewett became the Pirates third base coach from mid-2000 to 2002.

He returned to the minors as manager of Nashville in 2003-2004, and from 2005 to 2008, he was the skipper of the Indianapolis Indians. Through 2007 his managerial record stands at 921-914.
