[edit] Biographical Information

"He can play a lot of different positions; he brings a lot of energy to a team, a can-do spirit; he'll just go out and do anything on any given day that you ask him to do . . ." - Astros manager Phil Garner, quoted at, about Trenidad Hubbard

Trenidad Hubbard played 10 seasons in the big leagues.

Hubbard was born in Chicago, IL and attended high school there. He was at Southern University and A&M College during 1984-1986.

His minor league career lasted 19 seasons, during which he hit .301 and stole over 450 bases. Perhaps his most impressive minor league season was 1994 with the Colorado Springs SkySox, when in 79 games he hit .363 and stole 28 bases. He made his major league debut in June of that year, with the Colorado Rockies.

In the majors he was never an everyday player, getting at most 208 at-bats in one season. However, he was frequently used in the field or in the pinch, appearing in 94 games in 1998, 82 in 1999, 92 in 2000, and 89 in 2002. In 1999 he hit .314 for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He is the cousin of NFL running back Joe Cribbs. He has been the Colorado Rockies' minor league outfield and baserunning instructor since 2007 (as of 2011).
