Catcher Toshiki Kurobane was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the third round in 2005. He debuted with the big club on May 25, 2008, being retired as a pinch-hitter, then returning to the minors. In 2009, he went one for ten, singling off Kan Otake on July 3 for his first hit.
