Second baseman Torre Tyson was signed as a free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 1998. He played for the GCL Red Sox in 1998-1999 and the River City Rascals in 1999. Signed by the New York Yankees, he made the South Atlantic League All-Star team in 2000 for the Greensboro Bats. Tyson played for the Tampa Yankees and Norwich Navigators in both 2001 and 2002, while also playing outfield.
Tyson was a coach for the Staten Island Yankees in 2003, the GCL Yankees in 2004, and the Charleston River Dogs in 2005-2006. In 2007, he is in his first year of managing with Charleston.
