Top 20.jpg

This page of the top 20 all time HR Leaders in Major League Baseball was put together with various hitting statistics, other than just the home run total, to help the viewer in comparing hitting statistics of the different hitters as time moved along. It should make it easier to decide who you think was the best all-around hitter in the home run category. The first stat on this page was recorded when Babe Ruth of the Boston Red Sox had his first base hit against the New York Yankees, October 2, 1914. The first home run was hit, also by the Babe, in 1915 and the clock has been ticking since that time.

When ties occur, position on the list is determined by AB/HR ratio.

As of today there are two active players on the list....Alex Rodríguez, (5th); Jim Thome, (7th).

The next active players are: Albert Pujols...475 Chipper Jones...468
