Tony Vittorio is a college coach.

An infielder in college, Vittorio began his coaching career as an assistant at Indiana University. He became head coach at Lincoln Trail Community College, taking over a team that had been 2-48 the year before he arrived, 1990. By 1994, the school had a 45-28 record. In 1995-1996, Vittorio was an assistant at the University of Kentucky.

Vittorio became head coach at IPFW in fall of 1996, taking over a 9-41 club. He improved them to 24-23 in 1997 and 30-17 in 1998.

In 2000, Vittorio moved to the University of Dayton as head coach, going 23-32 his first year there. Dayton set a school record with 32 wins in 2001. They tied the mark of 32 in 2002. In '05, they set a school record with 596 hits. The next year, they set a new school record of 33 wins while the pitchers fanned 343, a school highwater mark.

Vittorio's club set school records for wins (38), hits (665), runs (448) and homers (77) in 2009, when they won the A-10 regular-season title for the first time.

Through 2009, Vittorio's career coaching record was 511-465. He has coached future major leaguers Jeremy Blevins and Craig Stammen.
