Tony Curry, from the Bahamas, was the fifth outfielder for the 1960 Philadelphia Phillies, appearing in 95 games at age 22. He was also in the majors in 1961 and 1966.
He is one of five major leaguers (through 2008) with the last name Curry.
He was a star in local baseball in the Bahamas for several years, and was signed by the Phillies in 1957. In Tampa the first year in the minors, he hit .333. He hit 20 homers in his second minor league season and 23 in his third. Source: Press release from the government of the Bahamas on the occasion of his death.

After playing from 1964-67 in the PCL, he spent 1968 in Mexico playing for Jalisco. Curry then came back home to the Bahamas, serving as president of the Bahamas Baseball Association in the early '70s. Toward the end of his life, though, he had grown disenchanted with the BBA.
Tony Curry died from a longstanding kidney ailment on October 16, 2006 at the age of 68.
