Tom Tewksbury pitched professionally for two years. He went 8-11 with a 4.07 ERA for the 1953 Appleton Papermakers, 6-11, 4.19 for the 1954 Wellsville Braves and 0-1 for the Quebec Braves that year. In 1953, he led his weak team in victories (oother pitchers were 35-66) but his 24 homers allowed led the Wisconsin State League.

Tom Tewkesbury was an older college-graduate pitcher for the Appleton team in 1953. He was a finesse-type pitcher, who changed speeds and threw many breaking pitches. I remember him as having good control, also, although his fastball lacked good velocity. ---User:Pitcher53
