 Biographical Information
Tom Signore has been a minor league pitching coach for over a decade.
While in college, Signore helped Quinnipac College to the 1982 Division II College World Series. Tom was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers and was 4-4 with a 7.02 ERA for the 1985 Helena Gold Sox, leading the Pioneer League with eight home runs allowed. He then pitched for a club in Rotterdam for one year.
In 1997, Signore became pitching coach for the Vermont Expos. He remained with their system for the 1998-2000 Cape Fear Crocs and 2001 Harrisburg Senators. In 2002, he moved to the Florida Marlins chain with the Portland Sea Dogs. He began 2003 with the Carolina Mudcats but stepped down due to fatigue issues before the year was out. He worked in 2004 as a fitness instructor.
Tom returned to baseball in 2005 as pitching coach of the Auburn Doubledays in the Toronto Blue Jays chain. He was with the Lansing Lugnuts from 2006-2008 and moved up to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in 2009-2010, his third different Eastern League team. Signore was the pitching coach of the Las Vegas 51s in 2011, and New Hampshire again in 2012-2013. Signore began 2014 in Las Vegas, filling in for Frank Viola. After Viola returned in late May Signore then moved to the Brooklyn Cyclones where he had been scheduled to be pitching coach. In July Signore was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome and ordered to rest for the remainder of the season.
