[edit] Biographical Information
Tom Kelly began his playing career in the Seattle Pilots organization in 1968 and had a cup of coffee in the majors with the Minnesota Twins in 1975. After his playing career ended, he was a minor league manager and a Twins coach from 1983 to 1986, when he became the team's manager. He remained the club's skipper through the 2001 season, winning the World Series twice during his tenure, in 1987 and 1991.
Kelly's father Joe Kelly (minors) was a pitcher in the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants systems.
