Tom Gorman had a notable year in 1984 when he went 6-0 with a 2.97 ERA. One of 13 major league players to come out of Gonzaga University through 2006, he was there at the same time as T.R. Bryden, who was also in the majors in 1986 at the same time as Gorman.

All three of the major league players named "Tom Gorman" have been pitchers (one went on to become a major league umpire after his playing days).
