Thomas Edwards

Biographical information

Tom Edwards is a minor league infielder who is currently playing in the Baltimore Orioles farm system.

Prior to playing professionally, Edwards played for Rutgers from 2006 to 2008. In 2006, he hit only .246 in 65 at-bats, however in 2007 he .340 with seven home runs and 48 RBI in 63 games. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 41st round of the 2007 amateur draft, but he did not sign. In 2008, he hit .285 in 48 games, and was drafted in the 28th round of that year's draft.

He began his professional career with the Aberdeen IronBirds in 2008, hitting .219 with 57 strikeouts in 47 games. He hit .240 in 39 games for the IronBirds in 2009.
