The Cleveland Indians drafted Tom Brennan with the 4th overall pick in the June 1974 draft, and immediately sent him to AAA where he toiled until finally debuting in the majors in 1981.

Brennan had one career complete game shutout in his career. It was on August 7, 1983 as a member of the Cleveland Indians against the Texas Rangers. He gave up 7 hits, walked 2 and struck out 5. He had one hit in 8 at bats in his career, the hit being a single on April 16, 1985 as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Houston Astros. The pitcher was Bob Knepper.
