Tom Austin

Tom Austin has been the head coach at Methodist University for 29 years and has a record of 902-371-9.

Austin went to Seminole Community College where he was an All-Florida Conference team member as an outfielder. While there, he established the Florida junior college stolen base record. Tom later transferred to Rollins College, where he played outfield for two years and got a degree in history.

From 1973 to 1979, Austin served as the head football and baseball coach at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, FL.

From 1980 to the present, Austin has been the head baseball coach at Methodist. He has led the Monarchs to six NCAA Division III College World Series (1986, 1988, 1991-1992, 1995-1996), and never finished lower than fifth. In 1995, they were the national runners-up. Tom has been named Conference Coach of the Year nine times, the NCAA Division III South Region Coach of the Year seven times, and the North Carolina College Coach of the Year twice.
