Tom Zachary gave up three of Babe Ruth's 60 home runs in 1927 including his 60th on September 30.
Zachary holds the major league record for most wins in a season without a loss. In 1929, he went 12-0.
The municipal baseball field in his hometown of Graham, NC, the former home of a Carolina League club, is named "Tom Zachary Field" in his honor.
