[edit] Biographical Information
Tom Mansell was the brother of Mike Mansell and John Mansell. He had a 44-year career on the police force of Kansas City, KS, rising to the position of Chief of Police, from which he retired three years before his death.
In 1908 Sporting Life remembered Tom (apparently incorrectly) as the batting champ of the 1883 American Association, saying he hit .383.
