[edit] Biographical Information

Tito Navarro has some notoriety in New York Mets circles simply because broadcaster Bob Murphy used to love pronouncing his name. Navarro appeared in 12 games for the 1993 Mets.

Tito was signed as a free agent in 1987, and played in the minors from 1987-94, all in the Mets organization. He hit .314 for Columbia in 1990

Navarro had little power, slugging only two home runs in his minor league career - those two in 1991 for Williamsport.

He spent several years in the minors as a teammate of Curtis Pride.

He is profiled in the book One Hit Wonders, which says he had a serious leg injury in 1994.
