Ting-Jen Yeh pitched in the US minors and in his native Taiwan.
Yeh signed with the Boston Red Sox and made his pro debut in 2006 with the Lowell Spinners, going 1-0 with a 9.53 ERA; his other stats were even worse with 7 walks and 22 hits in 11 1/3 IP for a 2.56 WHIP and .400 opponent average. Boston promptly let him go. The Fu Jen alumnus was then picked in the first round of the CPBL draft by the Brother Elephants.
In 2007, the lefty was 1-4 with a 7.69 ERA. He was even worse in 2008 (0-1, 12.54) and 2009 (0-4, 9.17). In 2009, he did lead Taiwan's minors with 65 strikeouts (in 71 innings) but was otherwise uninspiring at 5-7, 5.32. In 2010, the Elephants hurler improved to 2-5, 3.86 and his team won the 2010 Taiwan Series. He faded to 5-11, 5.15 in 2011. He was third in the league in losses behind Ying-Chieh Lin and Chi-Wei Lin. After a 0-2 start to 2012, his career CPBL record was just 8-27 with an ERA closer to 6 than 5.
