Tim Pettorini is a longtime college coach.
After playing college ball at Bowling Green State University and making All-Mid-American Conference as a senior outfielder, he was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 18th round of the 1973 amateur draft but did not sign.
He spent time as coach of Fremont Ross High School prior to becoming head coach at The College of Wooster in 1982. During his time there, he has taken the school to the Division III College World Series five times through 2009, with runner-up finishes in 1997 and 2009. His team won a school-record 46 games in '97 and was 34-3 in the regular season in 2002, being ranked #1 in the nation for four weeks.
Pettorini is 919-332-6 after 28 seasons as a college coach, one of 8 NCAA Division III coaches to reach 900 wins.
