Tim Karkatselos signed his first professional contract with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings in 2009 and made his pro debut with the 2010 San Angelo Colts but was released in May. He made the Greek national team for the 2010 European Championship. He allowed six runs in his first start, a loss to Italy. He rebounded in his next outing throwing two and a third scoreless innings against Germany. He also started against France going five innings, giving up three runs to get the victory that secured fourth place in the tournament. That win earned Greece a spot in the 2011 Baseball World Cup in Panama.
Karkatselos signed with Germany's Pulheim Gophers for 2011. He debuted on April 9 against the Berlin Sluggers and got the win with 9 strikeouts, 5 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs (2 earned) in 7 innings. He was 1 for 5 at the plate.
