Centerfielder Thurman Tucker led the 1940 Cotton States League with 36 SB (in only 97 games), the 1941 Texas League with 40 SB and the 1942 Texas League with 116 Runs, 34 SB and 10 3B (tied).
Tucker entered the Navy in November 1944 and was discharged in December 1945.
