Team Bio

Founded in 1999, the Thomasville HiToms are a Summer Collegiate Baseball team playing in the Coastal Plain League, one of the most prestigious Summer Collegiate Leagues in the United States. The HiToms who make their home in Historic Finch Field in Thomasville, NC, are named in honor of the class D minor league High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms and Thomasville Hi-Toms, which played their games in Finch Field throughout starting in 1948 and continued to play in various Carolina-based leagues until 1969. While immediately popular with the people of Thomasville, as a team, the HiToms were relatively unremarkable for their first few seasons. The HiToms turned for the better in the 2003, claiming the West Division Championship. Three years later, the Thomasville HiToms went on to seal their first CPL Championship, and remain a popular institution in the High Point, NC/ Thomasville, NC community.

The Thomasville HiToms, as all summer college baseball organization, are dedicated and designed to provide minor league-style competition for NCAA players that wish to continue on into professional baseball. The HiToms operate in the model a Minor League team: playing nightly before fans in stadiums which seat thousands, using wood bats and minor league specification equipment, and experiencing road trips between games. The Thomasville HiToms actively recruit players, and have hosted some of the premier collegiate athletes from throughout the United States. Like all other summer collegiate players, the HiToms are unpaid in order to maintain their NCAA eligibility, and live with host families in the same manner as Single A and Independent League players.
