The Pride of the Yankees

The Pride of the Yankees is a 1942 film based on the life of Lou Gehrig, starring Gary Cooper as Gehrig (and featuring a cameo by Babe Ruth as himself, as well as other former Yankees playing themselves). Noted sportswriter Paul Gallico was nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay.
