The Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia located on the Philippine Archipelago, which consists of over 7,000 islands. Several major leaguers saw military action here during World War II or Spanish-American War. A couple Japanese baseball stars died here during World War II as well. The Philippines won the 1954 Asian Championship and have maintained a minor baseball presence for decades.
