Through 2006, Hall of Famer Tris Speaker is one of two major league players who attended Texas Wesleyan University, with Jeff Moronko the other. Mike Jeffcoat has been the head coach since 2002.
The school has sponsored baseball since 1967, except the 1968, 1985 and 1986 seasons. The Rams have been members of the Big State Conference (1967-197?), Texoma Conference (197?-198?), Heart of Texas Conference (198?-1999), Heartland Conference (2001), and Red River Athletic Conference (2003-present).
