Terry Alexander served as Jacksonville University's head coach from 1991 to 2013 and is the winningest coach in school history, for all sports. His overall record is 713-590-2.

Before becoming the school's head coach, he was as assistant coach from 1980-1990. In 2002, he served as an assistant coach for Team USA, which won the championship at that year's Haarlem Baseball Week and earned a silver medal in the (very first) World Collegiate Baseball Championship. Alexander was also the head coach at Orange Park High School in 1979, going 27-5. He had been signed by Pittsburgh Pirates scout Gene Baker as an outfielder out of college but had a back injury in spring training in 1978 and never played as a pro.

He was named hitting coach for the Bristol Pirates for 2014.

He climbed both Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. McKinley.
