[edit] Biographical Information

Terry Abbott has been a pitcher, coach and scout. His uncle Rudy Abbott was his college coach.

The Atlanta Braves picked Abbott in the 15th round of the 1977 amateur draft and he pitched in their organization in 1977-1978. He was 7-3 with a 3.07 ERA for the 1977 Kingsport Braves, finishing 6th in the Appalachian League in ERA. He went 8-5 with two saves and a 3.69 for the 1978 Greenwood Braves, just missing the top 10 in ERA (by .03) in the Western Carolinas League.

Abbott began a coaching career as a pitching coach in the Pittsburgh Pirates chain in 1989. He coached at various levels of the Cincinnati Reds' organization in the 1990's and was the Reds' scouting supervisor from 2001-2004.

Abbott was the pitching coach of the Jupiter Hammerheads in 2011.
