Ted Silva is a former minor league baseball pitcher who played from 1995 to 1997 and in 1999 in the Texas Rangers farm system, in 2000 for the Kaoping Fala and in 2001 for the Camden Riversharks.
Prior to playing professionally, he was a consensus All-American in 1995, and he was on the All-Tournament team in the 1995 College World Series.
He was originally drafted in the 21st round of the 1995 amateur draft, and began his professional career that season with the Charleston RiverDogs, with whom he went 5-4 with a 3.38 ERA. He played for the Charlotte Rangers and Tulsa Drillers in 1996, going a combined 17-4 with a 2.91 ERA in 27 starts. In 188 1/3 innings, he walked only 43 batters and allowed only 170 hits. In 1997, he played for Tulsa, going 13-10 with a 4.09 ERA in 26 games (25 starts).
Silva missed the 1998 season, and in 1999 he went 6-3 with a 4.00 ERA in 13 games (11 starts) for Tulsa. In 2000 with Kaoping Fala, he went 3-4 with a 2.45 ERA. In 2001 with the Riversharks he went 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA in 28 games (six starts).
