Catcher Ted Mayer was a player in the high minors from 1931 to 1935, a player/manager in the low minors from 1937 to 1941 and player in the Pacific Coast League in 1942.

Mayer was the first pro manager of Jerry Priddy in 1937, Chet Johnson in 1939, Fred Bradley in 1940, and Earl Torgeson in 1941.
