[edit] Biographical Information
Theodore "Huck" Conovar was in one game with the 1889 Red Stockings. He was often called Theo by the press and they spelled his last name Conover. His minor league career ran at least through 1897.
Conovar is credited with a save under the rules in existence in 1969, when the save first became official. David Nemec, in the book The Official Rules of Baseball Illustrated, points out that Conovar, however, gave up all of the runs that the opposing team scored in his one outing.
Conovar is buried in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, KY.
